Your Transformation into a Shamanic Healer
When you are called to the healer's path, you come, sometimes trudging your feet behind you, sometimes leaping forward onto the path. However you arrive, there is no doubt that your heart is full of love for the People, for the Earth, for the Creator. You have come to be of service, even as the healing work propels you in your own inner growth.
When you say, "YES!" to a healer's path, the Creator and all of the Universe hears you and then...the transformation begins. You have undergone the fires of transformation already, no doubt. Fire burns away all that you are not, allowing the emergence of who you truly are. The Shamanic Apprenticeship continues that process of transformation, gently aligning with your soul's calling. The inner growth through your own shamanic healing sessions allows you to heal and support that emergence. The knowledge and skills will give you what you need to be of service. Transformation can feel uncomfortable; however, the calling is so strongly felt, so deeply heard within us, the love we have is so profound, that we willingly endure the fire of transformation. Likely, you have already had transforming experiences to press you towards emergence of who you are as a healer. The Shamanic Apprenticeship allows you to consciously and gently step into being a shamanic healer.
As time moves through the apprenticeship, you will notice how you have changed. People often report feeling more at ease in their lives, less affected by the drama in relationships. As a healer, you will likely notice a sense of intensity (power) in your sessions with clients, as well as a poise and effortless wisdom. This is a wondrous and beautiful transformation process!!

The Community Drum Keeper helps you build and come into relationship with shamanic tools, such as the drum, rattle, and medicine bag. She also conducts drum circles at the retreat.

Retreat Begins Your Apprenticeship!
The Retreat launches the apprenticeship. It centers around the call to be a healer, how your past and ancestry has shaped you, what you bring as a result, and how to prepare yourself to be a healer. The retreat culminates in acknowledging all that you bring, making your offering, and declaring your answer to the call in a final ceremony. We'll talk about:

About Classes
Classes include lecture, discussion, and experiential exercises. You'll also be assigned books as these classes progress. Through readings, classes, and discussions, you'll develop a solid knowledge base about subjects both mystical and practical. These classes will follow a western approach to education. Skill-based classes and practice are also essential to the program. These classes will follow a more indigenous approach to education with modeling and hands-on graduated skill-building. Personal growth and transformation are inherently a part of the apprenticeship. Shamanic healing is one of the most powerful methods of inner transformation. You'll be working with a shamanic healer throughout the apprenticeship. Some of these individual shamanic healing sessions will be private; others will be witnessed by your fellow apprentices during a class. |

Through shamanic journeys that connect to mountains, water, land, forests, creatures, ancestors, and All That Is, we can reconnect with energies and Spirits of the Earth. In this way, we can enter into Sacred Relationship even as we come to know the wisdom so readily available to us when we listen.

FIRST CONTACT and PRE-JOURNEY CONSULTATION
In these classes, you'll learn the interaction skills you'll need with your client from the first point of contact through the initial consultation in a session. There are shamanic as well as practical skills outlined and practiced here.

FOUR ELEMENTS - WATER, EARTH, AIR, FIRE - (COMMUNITY CLASS)
Four classes are offered separately, one for each element (Earth, Air, Water, Fire). As you come into Sacred Relationship with the element, you can recognize within yourself your own strengths in that element or where you might need to build energy. For healers, you may learn to recognize it in clients, offering compensation in creative ways. These single classes are offered seasonally.

MEDICINE WALK
The terms Medicine Walk is respectfully borrowed from indigenous traditions. It is a movement into nature, a walk upon the Earth to honor the Sacred Relationship, and to listen to what the Earth and all of nature has to teach you. You'll have a class about the Medicine Walk and other times to share.

Supporting You in Building a Private Shamanic Healing Practice
We know that it can be difficult to start a private shamanic healing practice, so we assist you in a few ways:
- Assist you with your First Client Referrals, sending out emails on your behalf
- List you on the Website to bolster referrals
- Offer Space on the Website for other Offerings that are Unique to YOU!
Institute Holidays
We do have holidays in the apprenticeship when formal classes are not held. Indeed, there are breaks throughout the year, such as at Thanksgiving, Winter Holiday, Spring Break, and a Summer Break. The apprentices continue their education, however, by practicing skills, journaling, reading, journeying, and continuing to build the necessary relationships.
Certification as a Shamanic Healer

In order to become certified as a Shamanic Healer, you must fully attend each aspect of the training, demonstrate proficiency in both knowledge and skill, and demonstrate development of presence as a shamanic healer. Successful completion of each of these elements substantiates your certification.
Attendance Full LIVE attendance at each aspect of the training, including each day of the retreat, classes, and sessions, is required. In cases of illness or emergency, you'll need to consult with your apprenticeship leader. (Missing the retreat may result in you being asked to join the next apprenticeship group the following year). |

Completion of 20 Shamanic Healing Sessions (as the "Client")
Personal inner growth and transformation are inherently a part of the apprenticeship at the Institute. As your inner growth continues, you will begin naturally to develop a healing presence. This presence is a direct result of the inner work that you're doing. You'll need to complete at least 20 shamanic healing sessions for certification within the 1-year timeframe.

PLEASE NOTE: You may take as long as 2 years to submit the documentation for these sessions. Once documentation is received, you'll receive your certificate.
