About Seasonal Ceremonies...
So much is reflected in the changing seasons of the earth! The cycle of life itself is reflected as we watch the earth come alive in the spring, grow strong and full in the summer, withdraw and retreat in the autumn, then become quiet and still in winter.
We see reflected in these seasons ways of being and ways for us to learn. We can allow the energy of the spring to carry us forward into excitement and visions of what may be. Riding that swell of energy, we move into the fruition of those visions, watching as they are fully realized (or wonder why they are not). As the energy of autumn encourages reflection and withdrawal, we can allow ourselves time to reflect and learn about ourselves and our actions. Then winter can teach us to become still, quiet, allow the life that is under the surface to remain quiescent, knowing that it is gathering the energy it needs for the spring.
In our modern way of living, many of us have forgotten the pulses of life, the natural rhythms and ways of being that reflect the nature around us. Seasonal ceremonies allow us an opportunity to remember and to allow ourselves to reflect and learn from the earth's ways of being.
Also, seasonal ceremonies allow us an opportunity to honor the earth and the seasons, to offer gratitude. This too we have forgotten. How would the earth respond to such honoring, as we honor and sing the new season in? You are invited to come and celebrate, to remember the ways of the natural rhythms of the earth, to honor the earth and the seasons!
